Mendocino Lodging Inn Policies

Rates / Reservations
Rates are for two people (plus 11% county tax). Each additional person over two, add $15 per night; children under 12 stay free. Rollaway or crib usage fee $10.
There is a two-night minimum on weekends, cliffside cottages (Sea Cloud & Shangri-La, Albion View and during July and August. There is a three night minimum on the following holiday weekends: Christmas, New Years, 4th of July, Memorial Day and Labor Day. There is a four night minimum over the Thanksgiving holiday. Exceptions are possible if booking pattern warrants. Other minimum night stays may apply for holiday weekends such as President's Day; Veteran's Day, Martin Luther King Day etc if booking patterns warrant.
A one night's deposit is required to secure your room. We accept Visa, Discover, American Express and MasterCard. If your reservation is made at least 14 days in advance you may secure your reservation by check. We will hold your room for 5 days pending receipt of your check.
Check-in & Check-out
Check-in is from 3 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. If you need to check in later please let us know in advance so that we can make arrangements for your arrival. We'll leave a map, flashlight and your room key for you in a designated place. Check-out time is 11 a.m. Guests not vacating units by 11 a.m., without Innkeeper's permission, will be charged a late check out fee equal to one night's lodging.
Families are welcome. For the well being of your children and the comfort of our other guests, we request that children be supervised at all times. Babysitting is available with advance notice.
If it is necessary to cancel or change any of the nights reserved you will be charged a $40 administrative fee per room cancelled. For cancellations with less than 14 days' notice (30 days for Shangri La, Sea Cloud and Albion View) or early departure you will be charged the full room rate for all nights reserved unless we are able to re-book the room. Last minute cancellations and early departures due to inclement weather are not refundable. There is a 21-day cancellation policy in effect during holiday periods: Christmas, New Years, 4th of July, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving and Labor Day.
Your pets are our guests too and we'll strive to make them feel like they are on vacation as well! We do ask that pets be under the owner's control at all times. There is a $50.00 fee per stay and a $25.00 fee for each additional pet. This is a per stay (not per night fee) and is not refundable. It covers the costs of deep cleaning a room after a pet stay including carpet shampooing and ionization to remove any allergens. It also covers the cost of in room amenities including pet food and water dishes; blankets; beach towels and litter pick up bags. There is a maximum of two pets per unit unless special permission by management is granted . Guests keeping pets in units without approval will be charged $100 per night plus the cost to repair any damages that occur. Please read our pet policy.
We are a Non-Smoking Inn. You may smoke on cottage decks or on the lower grounds. Guests smoking in rooms will be charged a minimum of $250 for cleaning and repair. The charge will include all actual costs plus any lost income.
Incense, Candles & Other
Incense burning is not allowed in guest units. The Inn will provide drip-less candles to guests if requested. Burning of other candles in rooms is not allowed. Guests will be charged for damages or excessive cleaning caused by candle or incense burning.
Guests will be charged a minimum of $25 for excessive cleaning, damages to or breakage of Inn property. Charges will be based upon documented expenses.
Guests generating excessive noise or otherwise bothering other guests will be asked to leave immediately and will not receive any refund of lodging fees.
Our Cliffside Cottages and Albion View home have a separate list of policies that will be mailed to you prior to your arrival or may be requested prior to making a reservation. A half deposit is required upon making your reservation and the balance is due 30 days in advance. For cancellations with less than 30 days' notice or early departure you will be charged the full room rate for all nights reserved unless we are able to re-book the room.
